A few of my favorite extras ...
Aprons ... they're half the fun!
I should explain myself, before I've got people thinking my goal in life is to try to look cute and put equally cute desserts on the table in order to please. This isn't the case. I rarely wear heels and my friends are still working on getting me into a "trainer purse" rather than my "man bag". I say shit too much and I laugh too loud. But with that said, there's something awesome about rockin' out in a fun apron. I asked for my first apron for my sixteenth birthday. It's yellow, with olives on it ... nothing hot, in fact, it's probably for dudes but I was obsessed. Aprons are back "in" now and look better than anything in my closet. I'm more likely to wear one of these out than a dress. Maybe I'll throw on some heels. But the man bag is coming with.
Oh, and guys, if this makes you uncomfortable then rock one of those "King of the Grill" aprons. Or just wipe your dirty hands all over the clothes you're wearing.

I think I've always wanted a mixer. I'm drawn to the somewhat retro look, the bright metal, and the shiny colors. Something like the call of that spoiled 1950's Bel Air parked in the driveway down the road. But it wasn't until I read the claim "The Kitchenaid is capable of mixing almost 10 pounds of mashed potatoes and can effectively mix up to 14 cups of flour per batch, easily mixing triple batches of bread and cookie dough" that I knew I was meant to have a mixer. In May of 2009 my mom said she'd generously buy me one as a graduation gift for finishing my degree and sent me to Macy's in Bozeman, Montana while she negotiated the terms via phone from Sheridan, Wyoming. After some wheeling and dealing I walked out with my brand new mixer - the Martha Stewart special addition Aqua Blue. I haven't been disappointed. I don't think I've tested the claim to ten pounds of mashed potatoes, mostly because I don't have a reason to, but she's (yes I'm personifying and giving my mixer a gender) maintained her credibility with 14 cups of flour and countless triple batches of cookie dough. She gets a little frustrated with double batches of cinnamon roll dough but that's just a good reason for me to remember that baking can be a workout for me as well ... and after 15 minutes of kneading I'm spent (good music is key for that recipe). Mixers are an investment and I don't think any of the recipes here will require one, but they deserve a shoutout, because if you ever get the chance to own one, take it ....
Tempted? A few options ...
